Computer Vision Engineer Job Description

Computer vision engineers convert the tasks of the human visual system into automatic operations. They determine methods for acquiring and processing digital images, then use a computer to analyze and understand them. Using Matlab, Python, C++ and other programming languages, they create systems that incorporate algorithms that mimic the human vision system.

Computer vision engineers use global and local descriptors to create applications that can search and classify exact image matches. Ideal candidates in the field have experience with color conversion, preprocessing, downscaling and filtering images. Some of the common areas for these engineers is in fields using object and face recognition software. These systems are found in security systems, smartphones and computers, and use the computer vision engineer's systems and defined parameters to analyze images.
