Release engineering is a branch of software engineering that involves analyzing and transferring source code into products. It involves studying various aspects, such as consistency, agility, reproducibility and identifiability. Build and Release Engineers often communicate with various software development teams, such as product managers and quality assurance teams to release specified products. Duties may involve software build automation, automated test integration, preparing reports and assisting in the delivery of software products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in configuration management and implementing continuous integration with workflow processes, as well as computer programming experience with C++, Java and C#. Familiarity with multi-platform application tools and best practices regarding branching and merge strategies may also be required. Relevant certifications and degrees are also prerequisites.
