Because a NOC Engineer works on a variety of networks and systems, one must have a strong background in various system tools in order to spot problem areas that crop up in both hardware and software. Strong communication skills are a must, as is the ability to think outside the box. An undergraduate degree in computer science is often the bare minimum when it comes education, however, equivalent work experience may be accepted as a substitute by various companies.
