Job Description

Linux is the fastest growing VM OS platform of Azure. Azure Linux team is focused in making the best experience for Linux in the cloud first world. Our team owns core services that helps in creation, bootstrap and support for Linux IaaS and container platforms of Azure.

We are looking for software developer who is passionate about open source workloads, lives and breathes Linux and has either worked in or motivated about distributed systems, scale, performance, and cloud platforms. As a part of this role you would be contributing upstream to Azure data source in Cloud init to make Azure Virtual Machine provisioning highly performant and reliabile.

Ideal candidates must have 5+ years of professional development experience in either C++/Java/Go/Python . They should also have a passion for excellence, and a willingness to deal with ambiguity. Experience with other cloud platforms and open source projects are a plus.

We are looking for someone to work on solutions for Linux based workloads on Azure. The project involves understanding the entire compute stack, go deep on performance and reliability tuning and make the underlying changes that will solve the hard problems of bringing OSS workloads to work optimally on Azure.

As a part of your work you may be required to make upstream contributions, be comfortable with programming in different languages and lead the change both internally and externally to the company. This is an opportunity to have impact Azure wide by bringing in key workloads onto Azure.
