As the HR Reporting Project Lead, you will work closely with peers, other business areas in and outside of HR, senior leaders and AIS resources to understand information needs and build solutions to deliver the key metrics to business decision. You will act as an acknowledged expert on HR reporting, extracting and manipulating data from appropriate systems to meet customer reporting needs. You will be responsible for leading the full testing cycle of a vendors reporting application, from creation of test scripts to final signoff.
Fundamental Components:
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR data, SQL, and Business Objects reporting platform to leverage data in order to create solutions that present data through reports, dashboards, scorecards, or KPI's. The candidate will serve as the key business resource to work with customers and Vendors to expand and improve the reporting content within our HR application(s).
Your essential duties will include:
* Supporting customers by turning business requirements into functional specifications and then executing delivery.
* Work directly with the customer to translate a business need into report requirements.
* Leading the technical lifecycle of data presentation from data sourcing to transforming into user-facing metrics/information.
* Lead/perform user acceptance/regression testing for a vendor reporting application (includes developing scripts, testing, logging defects and final signoff).
* Driving the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources to continually improve data quality.
* Designing structured multi-source data solutions to deliver reports or dashboards that make data actionable for our customers.
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
Bachelors or higher
3-5 years of report writing experience required (data warehouse experience a plus).
Proficient at independently writing SQL statements, including joins
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential.
Must have advanced Access and Excel experience.
Must have strong experience with report testing including dat validation and defect identification.
Must be able to work effectively across multiple databases with wide range of reporting tools
Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively with management on high level direction/decision-making as well as with IT/peers on very detailed, technical level.
EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
