Job Description

Apple Media Products (AMP) includes all of the teams who work on Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Books, Apple News, Podcasts, the App Store, and more. Content metadata is at the heart of AMP, powering key aspects of the customer experience including UI, search, and Siri. Content Operations is responsible for ensuring world-class quality and discoverability of AMP metadata and we are looking for a skilled and passionate Program Manager to join our team. As a Program Manager, you will play a central role in delivering new metadata-driven features that will improve the customer experience across all AMP products with a focus on voice interfaces, search, and discoverability. You will partner closely with the business and engineering teams to define initial requirements, produce specifications, and drive new features to completion. You will be required to understand the inner-workings of our products and guide programs that are critical to AMP's long-term strategy to successful launches.

* 5+ years experience in the digital media or technology industry - Project or program management experience including working cross-functionally and leading large requirements gathering or status review meetings - Strong combination of technical knowledge, communication, and organizational skills - Strong understanding of large-scale content management systems and data modeling - Expert understanding of the digital music space and the challenges inherent to music metadata - Experience writing clear and comprehensive documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences - Experience managing multiple ongoing projects in a very dynamic environment Technical Requirements - Familiarity with SQL - Python for data science a plus - Hadoop and Spark experience a plu

You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of new metadata features for Content Operations team, including: - Defining initial requirements and scope - Bringing together the right teams to succeed - Identifying and engaging with strategic partners that can help us achieve our goals - Documenting and implementing any required business process changes - Estimating project resource needs based on expert judgment and analysis - Determining required reporting and analysis to measure program success over time - Executing the project and regularly reporting status You will work collaboratively within the organization and cross functionally with AMP engineering, engineering project management, editorial, and Siri. You will also work externally with software development vendors and strategic data partners. Very strong cross-functional communication, presentation, and influencing skills are essential for success in this role. You will be required to work with all types of people, understand what they care about, and know how to effectively engage them in what you are trying to accomplish.
