TECHNOLOGY SERVICES GROUP (TSG) is the central infrastructure services group with a proven track record of innovating to help BNY Mellon and its customers have most reliable, nimble and cost-effective solutions in the financial services market place. TSG is building next generation scalable, efficient data center as a service using the latest innovation infrastructure. Building on top of the cloud deployments in BNY Mellon, we are aggressively automating and bridging the green field cloud with the existing virtual computing environments.

We are looking for an Oracle Database Developer who will be tasked with assisting in the database schema design for Enterprise applications to aggregate and report on IT Asset Management. You would be part of the technical support team of new strategic applications. You will be part of the Technology Service Group (specifically the IT Asset Management team) that is building the enterprise golden source of the bank's assets. You'll be a significant contributor of a globally diverse team and will also be directly involved in the strategic build-out of the new databases.

Key Responsibilities

"• Design and build out new oracle database schema based on customer's requirements

* Analyze application data requirements and develops conceptual and logical models of the data as a prerequisite for physical database design.
* Create and maintains metadata in data model dictionaries.
* Translate data requirements into entity relationship diagrams, and analyzing existing databases through reverse engineering.
* Assist in providing data element naming consistent with standards and conventions and ensures that data dictionaries are maintained across multiple database environments (mainframe, distributed systems).
* Ensure data content/quality by planning and conducting data warehouse system tests, monitoring test results and taking required corrective action.
* Assist in analyzing and designing data models, logical databases and relational database definitions using both forward and backward engineering techniques.
* Contribute to the achievement of team objectives.

Principal Architect, Data Management->> Responsible for the delivery of high quality data architectural solutions, including enterprise and line of business architectures, while ensuring compliance with company policies. Initiates and drives processes that unleash the value of the Company's data assets to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace. Strategizes and contributes to enterprise level technological initiatives on data governance, management and usage. Defines and implements data architecture for corporate data governance and database design principles. Ensures data management business solution deliveries. Adheres to the established data architecture methodologies and standards, and in compliance with company policy. Identifies organization-wide initiatives and makes recommendations for the use of data warehouse technology. Works closely with senior management to educate and to articulate resource requirements necessary to promote warehousing goals. Oversees warehousing activities of the organization to assure the strategic goals of the organization are met, and to assure integration of corporate data constructs (logical and physical database designs). Works toward architectures enterprise data solutions. Performs enterprise planning and designing solutions for emerging business and complex technology environments, including data warehousing. Identifies and recommends ways to drive more value out of the company's data. Designs stable and flexible high performance database solutions, maximizing data reuse and avoiding data redundancy, according to the current and anticipated business rules, following SDLC. Works with other stakeholders in optimizing database solutions. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.


* 10-12 years of experience in data management services required.


* Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.



Required: • DB development experience across Oracle Server space • Good understanding of relational database modeling • Strong hands-on experience in in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development in 11g and 12c environments • Analyze user requirements and translate into database requirements and implement in database code. • Knowledge in writing packages/procedures • Assist the development team in the design, development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications. • Create and maintain SQL queries and routines, work with complex data models and object relational database mapping, while producing complex reports. • Need to be able to optimize, tune and troubleshoot SQL code • Good understanding of Server performance troubleshooting

Preferred: • Hands-on experience for PL/SQL batches, stored procedures, and database triggers creation and maintenance. • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations. • Experience with agile software development approaches including Scrum, Jira • UNIX shell scripting experience • Candidates must have good oral and written communication skills
