Job Title: Principal Application Developer
Location: Roseland, NJ
Job Duties:
ADP Technology Services, Inc. seeks a Principal Application Developer at our Roseland, NJ location. Responsibilities: Develop strategies for ADP National account service (NAS) products to find innovative ways to leverage Splunk software applications. Work as a Splunk product domain expert and be responsible for the design and implementation of Splunk infrastructure, deployment, products, and applications. Drive the direction and implementation for various enterprise applications on Splunk adoption. Create and manage Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) queries, reports, alerts, and dashboards for enterprise application performance, stability monitoring and triage. Create Splunk applications and deploy these applications using the Splunk Deployment Server. Test and deploy reporting solutions for various Information Technology (IT) Operations Use Cases.
Education and Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a related field plus ten (10) years of related experience. Employer will accept a master's degree plus eight (8) years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree plus ten years of experience. Telecommuting permitted.
Work Experience:
Three (3) years of experience must include: Splunk infrastructures, infrastructure topology, deployment, upgrade, migration, maintenance, and performance monitoring; Splunk development (creating Splunk applications, alerts, reports, dashboards, and data models); Scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, and Ruby); Unix/Linux and Windows OS; Regular expression Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL); Java application performance tuning and optimization on WebSphere and Jboss platforms; Java thread and heap dump analyses; Batch Job automation with Shell and Perl scripting; and Development automation with BMC Blade logic and Ansible.
