Program Service Area: Administration

Department:Operations

Hours: 5 - 15 hours per week

Salary: $17.00 per hour (all new hires begin at starting salary regardless of experience) Benefits: 403b Retirement Plan with a match of up to 2% based on years of service; CA Paid Sick Leave accrued at 1 hour per 30 hours worked with a maximum accrual of 80 hour per calendar year.

General Description: The IT Specialist is responsible for managing all internal IT related Help Desk Ticket requests and ensure timely response and resolution. The IT Specialist also performs administrative tasks such as assisting with IT procurement process, documenting and tracking expiration/renewal dates for software applications and monitoring IT equipment inventory.

Essential Functions

Communication:

* Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with staff and vendors
* Respond promptly to phone calls, emails and IT related Help Desk Tickets
* Provide IT training to staff as requested
* Provide regular updates to supervisor, ensuring IT department is meeting agency needs

Agency Leadership:

* Assist in development of IT procedures by recommending changes for greater efficiency
* Identify and follow policies and procedures for the role assigned

Job Complexity:

* Manage the maintenance of operating systems on a variety of workstations including both Mac and Windows OS
* Coordinate work assigned to out-sourced agency support and follow up when necessary
* Coordinate the mobile phones across the agency
* Configure new equipment, including cell phones using JAMF software and enter into inventory
* Manage maintenance of and/or coordinate operating systems and other software applications and updates on Mac OS/iOS devices and Windows Server
* Assist with procurement process of IT goods and services

Accountability:

* Track IT contracts and expiration/renewal dates of software, hardware, wireless services, etc.
* Maintain and update website content
* Ensure updates, antivirus software and server authentication protocols are up to current safety standards
* Responsible for accurately documenting, tracking and resolving IT issues to ensure timely resolution
* Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct annual inventory of IT related items in conjunction with contractual requirements

Decision Making:

* Judgments and decisions are guided by Harmonium and program policies, contracts, and guidelines and best practices in the field

Minimum Competencies

* Must hold a high school diploma. College, Associates Degree or higher is preferred
* Some experience in a computer hardware and software support position is preferred
* Excellent communication and public speaking skills
* Knowledge of Google Applications and Mac OS/iOS preferred
* Creative problem solving skills
* Careful attention to detail
* Candidates must possess strong overall computer skills
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
* Experience and knowledge of general office equipment
* Excellent organizational, multitasking and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Friendly, professional and supportive approach with all internal and external customers
* Commitment and understanding of Harmonium's vision, mission and values
* Valid TB results required
* Must receive Fingerprint Clearance upon hire (paid by Harmonium)
* Must have automobile for transportation and maintain a valid driver's license and always have current auto insurance

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to perform data entry and ten key functions
* Frequent repetitive hand use and simple grasping
* Occasional driving throughout San Diego County
* Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder
* Ability to lift and carry up to twenty pounds
* Ability to sit for prolonged periods
* Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
* High energy needed with the ability to balance multiple high-stress tasks
* No or very limited exposure to physical risk
