IT Project Leader

Job Description

Zurich is currently seeking an IT Project Leader for its Finance Solution IT division in North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

This position will have two primary responsibilities. First is to provide operational support for IT applications and platforms. The Project Leader will manage base support leveraging external vendor resources and retained subject matter experts, meet IT audit and compliance controls for critical applications, lead business enhancements and compliance related changes to the applications, support enterprise wide infrastructure projects, manage business stakeholder & IT leadership communications.

Second is to act as project manager for projects of small to moderate size and complexity utilizing traditional Waterfall & Agile methodologies. The Project Leader will be responsible to manage and coordinate with a team, consisting of both internal and external resources, business partners, and stakeholders to define the business problem and formulate the project/systems scope and objectives. She/he will also utilize a detailed understanding of insurance, processes, and business systems to drive the research and analysis of the defined problem, design the recommended solution, and implement the solution, addressing associated change management.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Project Management or IT Operations area OR
* High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Project Management or IT Operations area AND
* Experienced in strategic and operational consulting or business systems integration

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Onshore offshore experience working with teams across multiple locations
* Vendor management experience
* Ability to work independently and interact effectively as part of a team
* Insurance and financial services experience is preferred
* Project management professional certification
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills
