Job Description
Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks an Associate, Business Analyst in New York, New York
Define technology project objectives, scope, and quality control through the project life cycle, including refining business requirements and defining functional specifications. Document business and functional requirements, including workflow, business rules, business process design and use cases. Define and document application infrastructure and architecture. Assist with QA/testing to convert use cases to test cases by reviewing the SQL database using SQL queries whenever required. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team. Pro-actively initiate changes in project scope, identify potential crisis, and devise contingency plans. Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project. Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. Serve as Agile Scrum Master, coordinating the Agile development process. Manage relationship with third party vendor.
Requirements:
Requires a Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Information Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years of experience as Senior Business Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or related occupation. Requires five (5) years of technical experience in integration, development, or infrastructure; technology platforms, organizational structure and culture, and teams involved in the successful completion of technology initiatives; interpreting customer business needs and translating those needs into application and operational requirements; interacting with a executives, managers, and subject matter experts; development methodologies, including waterfall and agile software development lifecycle; project management software/tools including Microsoft Project; MS Office applications including Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint; Agile/Scrum project methodology; JIRA/JIRA Admin; SQL programming; SQL Server; Vendor Management; and Business Process Design. Requires two (2) years of experience acting in a project management capacity for large complex projects.
