Job Responsibilities

State Street is seeking a full-time developer to support the Trade Processing Systems Team in our Irvine, CA office. The candidate will develop enhancements for the DNS (Delivery Notification System) application for our monthly software releases and new applications for various clients. Responsibilities will include creation of technical specifications, hands-on development, creation of test plans according to State Street's published Development Process Framework, provide production support. Will also require monitoring of our systems during peak business volumes and quickly reacting to business needs while coordinating with technical staff to resolve technical issues. Finally, we seek someone with an aptitude for learning new things.

Qualifications

* The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer in enterprise software development.
* Strong core Java experience including multithreading, JDBC and JMS.
* RDBMS SQL experience (Sybase & Oracle preferred), well versed in freehand SQL and data extraction.
* MQ, Unix and Unix shell scripting.
* Server-side Java experience with at least one application server (GlassFish preferred).
* Java EJB and Perl experience is a plus.
* Solid experience in full software development cycle, including application architecture, technical specs, analysis, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing, production support.
* Experience in the financial industry with knowledge of SWIFT standards is a plus.
* Excellent verbal and written communication are required.
* Exceptional interpersonal communication and strong team collaboration skills.
