Yume was founded by Katy Barfield, one of Australia’s leading experts in Food Waste & Food Rescue. As the founding CEO of SecondBite and founder of Spade & Barrow (acquired by Aussie Farmers Direct), Katy has over 10 years experience in the surplus food space, and is uniquely positioned to lead Yume’s expansion. The team has a mix of commercial experience and an underlying, uniting passion for eliminating food waste across the globe.
Food waste is quickly becoming a top global priority due to both environmental and economic implications that can no longer be ignored. Numerous jurisdictions are introducing or have already introduced regulations and legislation aimed at reducing food waste. The time is right to capitalise on global momentum in this space.
Yume is in the process of closing a funding round that will be used to build out the product (from the MVP) and expand. Yume is looking for developers who are passionate about sustainability and looking to work on something special!
