About Sonato

Sonato’s software is an all-in-one, integrated platform to power the day-to-day commercial, financial and marketing operations in hotel, bar, restaurant, or spa. It combines aspects of a marketing content management and communication platform with eCommerce, membership, inventory, point of sale, as well as human resources and bookkeeping features.

Founded in 2016 the company’s software is live and in daily use by the thousands of members and hundreds of staff at San Francisco’s The Battery private club.

Sonato is a design-led product. All aspects of our product start with design and continue through our workflow as efficiently as possible. We are a tight-knit team, working collaboratively together to build the best product for the end consumer.

Engineering Team

• We are looking for experts to help solve real world challenges in hotel, restaurant and fitness businesses to name a few

• We organize work using Trello cards, GitHub pull requests and milestones. We generally have 2 milestones a month. We encourage direct communication with respect to letting people focus on their work. We have one mandatory meeting a week where we discuss our current workload and figure out any blockers or team wide questions. We have a standard local, staging, production deployment flow with a large set of unit and integration tests powered by a CI server.

What We are Building

• We're targeting businesses in the hospitality industry but even though they share a lot of high level concepts in practice each business has own unique qualities. We strive to build generic systems in terms of the data we collect and business flows we implement. The same goes for the UI, we are building a platform that business people in a hotel, restaurant or a spa will find intuitive and stable to stake their day to day operations on.

• The Battery has a private membership and an online application. We built a video interview system with a phone conference fallback powered by WebRTC and Twilio. The system has helped the applicants showcase their candidacy and the club to make better choices in welcoming new members.

• The Battery has a philanthropic program called Battery Powered that helps its members engage with important social causes. We built a custom content management system to help the staff showcase the different causes and improve how members participate in the program.

• We built a React Native point of sale application that worked with a credit card reader, printer and a cash drawer.
